From Passion to Profession: The story of Bellakshoots

From Passion to Profession: The story of Bellakshoots

It all started when I was young. I grew up in my Mommas photography studio in Tennessee, it was like a second home for me.  I would always watch her as a little girl with the camera taking photos and I was always so fascinated.  Growing up I always knew my job would have something to do with cameras. I just didn't know what at the time.  I would vlog, sit in my room, make silly videos with my friends, edit them up.. just for fun.

Then when I was 16 I bought my first real camera- a Sony a6000.  Even though it wasn't 4K I still loved that thing.  I began taking photos of everything, and I mean everything.  I'd spend hours just editing them up on a Lightroom.  I did high school online so I had a lot of free time to really focus on my passions and what made me happy.  I'd go on east coast trips with my older brother and he'd always make me take videos and photos of him surfing.  Turns out, I fell in love with filming surf.  I mean I spent my day on the beach, tanning, filming, just the ocean and the surfers and my great music.  Life was peak. I didn't think it could get better than that.. Until I fell in love with cars.  I was 17 almost 18 and I remember going to all these car shows, not knowing a single thing about cars- but just admiring and listening to them.  I started to take my camera to these shows, and the time I had my first rig with my gimbal setup and everyone there started to approach me. Asking if I could shoot there car etc.  I didn't think anything of it at the time, that was until I started posting my car content on instagram. Which at the time my photography account was full of surf pictures haha.  Soon then, my account name changed to "Bellakshoots".  The adrenaline junkie in me came out one day and I decided to hang out of the window to film a car.. which then turned into me hanging out of the back of a open hatched vehicle.. which then turned into a full harness rig filming supercars. But let's not get ahead of ourselves now, took a few years to get to that level!

I soon realized that filming Cars was my passion and little did I know the opportunities it would bring me.  From the age 17-22  I learned as much as I possible could about businesses and how to start them, studied analytics, learned as much as I could about cars, and basically how to make my passion into my dream job.

And here I am I- 7 years later.. With a global audience of over 1.5 million, traveling the world, filming supercars, insane events, working with companies that I could only dream of working with.  It is crazy to think that a camera has absolutely changed my life.  I believe everything happens for a reason, and Gods plan is greater than you could even imagine.

Dream without limits. With passion to fuel your goals, there’s nothing you can’t achieve.
